Socks Knit Flat Part 2! Sock with the seam on the opposite side
Welcome back to Knitting House Square! This video is an extension of the original Socks Knit Flat step-by-step knitting tutorial.
Original Socks Knit Flat Video (Part 1): ruclips.net/video/nFQt4sgQGLk/видео.html
The original socks knit flat video included only one sock pattern. That means that the seam for both the left and right sock were on the same side. After posting I received many requests for a separate left and right sock pattern so that the seam of each sock would be on opposite sides, and you could wear the pair with both of the seams facing towards center.
I am going to refer to the original pattern as the Right Sock because the seam ends up on the left (the inside of the right ...

Is there a way to do this method but with worsted weight yarn? My husband and father both love wool. I can’t afford to spend any money on yarn right now . I have patons worsted wool. (I know they say to not use all wool cuz it’ll felt but we don’t mind and it gets super cold where we live) Can I use that yarn?

I have tried doing the magic loop method, but I think I’m just setting in my ways after knitting for 60 years lol. One of my sisters does it, but I just find it to cover some to keep moving the mechanism. It’s just as easy for me to use double pointed needles and switch them up that way, but for socks I do use a 9 inch circular and then switch to double point for the toe and then kitchen or stitch the toe together.

Finally over three years so much frustration and accidently, a happy one, came upon your channel. What fasinated me was using the 9 inch circular needle. I thought as I continued to watch there it is my frustration was the control I did not have with longer ones. Just too many opportunities for FROG to again frustration. Thank you for your incredible instructional video. Now I am going to finally get on board with some socks for me and my three grandchildren. You are a gem.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I like that you explain everything. I have your pattern and I am ready to get to work on my socks. I have learned so many ways to do the heel but I like your way. I think it looks very neat. Some videos show shadow stitch which is nice too but tension has to be perfect otherwise stitches have spaces.

I had huge issues with ML & i could never work out which needle to pull out & id get them mixed up etc. But, if you imagine/picture in ur head how it would be if the needles were sitting the way you normally would if knitting flat, then it makes it quite easy. Also, i always use this to remember - yarn comes from the back & needle comes from the back. That way i don't end up going the wrong way & knitting backwards like i would if i knitted from right to left instead of left to right!

Great question! The slip, slip, knit decrease creates a single stitch that leans towards the left. The opposite is a knit two together, which forms a single stitch and leans towards the right.
